ALINA NESTOR – Lawyer

In Memoriam

Alina Nestor will forever be remembered by all of us as one of the kindest people we have ever known.
She was a person who always gave everything to everyone and never expected anything in return. A beautiful soul, with a remarkable kindness and generosity, and a quiet strength that defined everything she did.

Alina was not only a valuable lawyer, but also a person who did a lot of good around her, being involved in volunteer work and helping people in need without ever speaking about it or expecting recognition.

She left us on 18 December 2020 after an unfair and relentless battle with a disease that never gave her a chance. For us, her departure is something we will never truly accept.
For Sora & Associates, Alina will always remain part of our team and she will remain forever on this website, just as she remains in our hearts.

Alina Nestor was a valuable member of Sora & Associates, successfully representing both domestic and international clients, especially in the Romanian Moldova region.

Her practice areas included commercial and company law, labor law, administrative law and criminal law.
She also had extensive experience in European funds absorption, particularly in agriculture and the food industry, as well as in large agricultural projects.

Over the last years of her activity, Alina worked on some of Romania’s largest agricultural projects, including farm acquisitions, SAPARD financed projects, construction of processing plants, wastewater treatment installations and environmental permitting projects.

Her experience included:

  • assisting a large UK agricultural group with a series of farm acquisitions in Romania;
  • coordinating several multi-million Euro SAPARD projects;
  • negotiating equipment contracts for farms and slaughterhouses;
  • advising on the legal aspects of building processing plants and water treatment facilities;
  • obtaining environmental authorizations and permits for complex agricultural projects.

Alina spoke French, English, Spanish, Italian and Romanian and was a member of the Romanian Bar.

She graduated from the Faculty of Law of “Petre Andrei” University in Iași and obtained a Master’s degree in International Relations and European Integration from the National School of Political Studies and Public Administration in Bucharest.

For us, Alina was not just a colleague. She was a friend, a kind soul and a person who left a deep mark on everyone who knew her.
God took her too early, but for us she will always remain part of Sora & Associates.
